Jelena Kovačić was born in 1979 in Zagreb, Croatia. She has completed a degree in Polish Language and Literature at the University of Zagreb and now studies Dramaturgy at the Academy for Dramatic Art. She also works as a dramatist, writer and translator. From 1998 to 2002 she was a member of the theatre group Theatre de femmes. Jelena Kovačić has received several awards for her work, most recently a scholarship as a Writer in Residence from KulturKontakt Austria (2010).
